The HERS Breast Cancer Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, provides programs and services supporting the needs of women and families affected by breast cancer in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Bras for Body & Soul®, a program of the HERS Breast Cancer Foundation, provides medically necessary items such as bras, prosthesis, lymphedema sleeves, wigs and more, to women who have had breast surgery. We also carry bras appropriate for all women and girls, including nursing bras.

The passing of dear friend and colleague Dorothy Highbaugh on February 14 beckons my heart, and the heart of so many of us.

This photo of Dorothy is from the HERS archives. Many years ago Dorothy shared her passion and talent for working IN CLAY with all of us at our Threads of Hope Breast Cancer Support Group in Fremont. She had a way of bringing out the best in everyone.

I will always remember Dorothy for her endless energy, commitment, and good naturedness to name only three of her many beautiful attributes.

Thank you Dorothy for being a blessing in my life, the life of HERS/Bras for Body & Soul and the life of so many people in the community.

You will always shine in our hearts as a role model of what it means to be a Survivor.
