The HERS Breast Cancer Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, provides programs and services supporting the needs of women and families affected by breast cancer in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Bras for Body & Soulฎ, a program of the HERS Breast Cancer Foundation, provides medically necessary items such as bras, prosthesis, lymphedema sleeves, wigs and more, to women who have had breast surgery. We also carry bras appropriate for all women and girls, including nursing bras.


About the HERS Breast Cancer Foundation - Our Board of Directors

 

Elizabeth Barron – Chairperson (August 2008 - present) / Recording Secretary of the HERS Breast Cancer Foundation Board (June 2007 – August 2008) / Board Member at large (June 2007 – present)

  • 21 year career with Pacific Bell as supervisor, trainer and coach of 30 employees upgrading and implementing the mechanization of all outside plant records
  • Central Office Engineer for Pacific Bell who designed and coordinated installations of electronic relay equipment for the “Pacific Rim”
  • Served as Office Manager for Family Services of the Tri-Cities, a Non Profit Counseling Agency in Fremont
  • Served as President of the Italian Social Group at Holy Spirit Church in Fremont
  • Long standing member of American Business Women’s Association having served as President, Vice President, and Recording and Corresponding Secretary
  • Proud mother of three children and grandmother to five grandchildren

 

Michelle Stewardson – Treasurer of the HERS Breast Cancer Foundation Board (2006 – present) / Served as Board Vice Chairwoman

  • Breast Cancer Survivor
  • 20 years experience in the accounting field with the last 13 years serving as Financial Controller of a large construction firm
  • Worked as an independent accounting software consultant
  • Co-owned and operated an online retail store with spouse for 5 years
  • Developed business relationships with various union labor organizations
  • Current member of BOMA (Building Owners and Managers Association)
  • Girl and Boy Scouts leader for 10 years with over 200 hours of leadership training with emphasis on maintaining the vital resources of the earth
  • YMCA & Skagit Youth Soccer Association coach for 3 years
  • Married mother of two children

 

Annette M. Fagundes – Recording Secretary (August 2008 - present) / Board Member at large (June 2007 – present)

  • Life long resident of Centerville District of Fremont
  • Washington Hospital from 1972-1981 / Business Office
  • Owner of Gabriella Ronegas Designs Inc. – Specializing in Commercial and Residential Interiors since 1977
  • Board member of the Golden Gate Boys Choir from 1989-1994
  • Married to Edmundo for 35 years – Retired Delta Air Lines employee
  • Mother of two adult children – Angela, an Elementary school teacher in the Fremont Area since 2007, and Dominic, a Fremont Firefighter since 2007 – and grandmother to two grandchildren, Xavier and Anouk

 

Sue Bove’ – Chairperson (2007-2008) / Board Member at large (2004 – present)

  • Breast Cancer Survivor
  • Corporate work for 25 years – Purchasing, material management, senior operational management with staffs from 25 – 200
  • Fremont Schools – Educator in the field of Autism / Counseled parents
  • Business Development, educating and conflict resolution
  • Current – Senior management level of home-based nutritional / health company
  • Married to Mike Bove and mother of Danielle, a college student

 

Kevin E. Smith – Board Member at large (October 2008- Present)

  • 26 year career as Family Owner and Director Berge-Pappas-Smith Chapel of the Angels – a family owned and operated funeral home and mortuary business.
  • As Family Owner and Director active in all aspects of the daily business; facility operations, on-site management and planning.
  • Board Member Berge-Pappas-Smith Chapel of the Angels – 22 years
  • Partner Irvington Memorial Cemetery – 21 years – providing business forecasting, oversight and strategic planning
  • Board President R&S Brothers Incorporated; a trust and endowment organization
  • ice President DKR Insurance Marketing Incorporated; a holding company
  • Board Member Golden Eagle Home Association 2006- Present
  • Former Planning Member City Of Fremont General Planning Update Committee 1988 – 1989
