honorary co-chairs color="#901888">Fil Gelfuso and Bernie Dutra join HERS Executive Director Cheryl Maloney on stage to welcome everyone.

Our opening ceremony started with the traditional Circle of Breast Cancer survivors, who each shared their name and number of years as a Survivor.

Each Survivor was given a white dove to hold, all of which were then released for a beautiful flight above the crowd.

Kim Golding, member of the Young Survivor's Coalition, shares her dove before they take flight.

The birds took flight to the tune of Wind Beneath My Wings, by Bette Midler.

Abigail and Patty entertain the crowd.

Sister Rebecca, O.P. joins in with a song.

Participants wrote words of care for loved ones,
for the world, to be carried by the wind on Hope for HER flags.

Fil's husband Tony Gelfuso served as Master of Ceremonies during presentations.

Michael Amaral captured the hearts of the crowd with his stirring rendition of "America the Beautiful."

Letha Saldanha wears a "Hope for HER" Footprint in memory of a friend.

Honorary Co-chair Bernie Dutra, and husband Assemblyman John Dutra cheer in the runners and walkers.

Afterwards, Assemblyman John Dutra generously treated all participants to a hot dog BBQ with all the trimmings.
